About Virtasant
Virtasant is a fast-growing global consultancy transforming how technology services are delivered. We are a diverse team of cloud experts, builders, and operators. Since 2006, we’ve helped large enterprises thrive in the public cloud — optimizing cost, scaling infrastructure, migrating legacy systems, and building cloud-native products.
We take an AI-first mindset and are big on FinOps, software engineering, product development, and technology operations. Our outcome-driven model helps enterprises solve complexity in the cloud, build efficient systems, and unlock real business value.
Role Summary
We’re hiring a Customer Success Engineering Lead (SRE Focus) to build and lead a high-performing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps team dedicated to ensuring world-class reliability, scalability, and performance across complex client environments.
This is a high-impact, client-facing leadership role that bridges the technical rigor of SRE with customer success. You will be the translator between the SRE team and the client, ensuring that operational excellence aligns with business outcomes.
The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader who thrives in ambiguity, communicates exceptionally well across technical and executive levels, and has a proven record leading SRE and DevOps programs in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Build, lead, and mentor an SRE/DevOps team focused on service reliability, availability, and scalability.
- Define the SRE vision, roadmap, and success metrics in alignment with client goals.
- Act as the primary interface between clients and the SRE organization — translating operational insights into business language and vice versa.
- Drive continuous improvement across reliability, observability, and automation practices.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to define SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs that align with customer priorities.
Operational Execution
- Oversee incident response, change management, and root cause analysis across critical systems.
- Establish and evolve CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and alerting frameworks.
- Champion reliability automation and proactive problem detection.
- Collaborate with clients to design and implement large-scale DevOps transformations.
- Ensure secure, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud operations (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Customer Engagement & Communication
- Lead technical onboarding, architecture reviews, and operational governance sessions with clients.
- Communicate complex operational issues clearly to both engineers and executives.
- Provide visibility into reliability trends, risks, and opportunities through concise reporting and storytelling.
- Build trusted partnerships with client stakeholders by demonstrating technical depth and reliability leadership.
Must-Have Skills / Experience
- 10+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- 5+ years leading high-performing technical teams in client-facing environments.
- Proven success driving reliability and performance programs for large-scale systems.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, etc.), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern application architectures.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills — able to translate between engineering detail and business impact.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with multiple competing priorities.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience leading DevOps or SRE transformation programs for enterprise clients.
- Background in customer success, consulting, or pre-sales engineering.
- Familiarity with FinOps and cloud cost optimization principles.
- Exposure to large-scale distributed systems and capacity operations.
- Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, Go, etc.).
